Nazareth, Northampton County · Checked October 24, 2026
A new designation. A useful local conversation.
Pennsylvania announced Nazareth’s new Main Street designation on October 23, 2026. It gives the Nazareth Economic Development Commission (NEDC) the opportunity to apply for up to $225,000 in supportive revitalization funding.
Understand the status. This is a designation and an opportunity for NEDC to apply—not confirmation of an award or an open $225,000 grant application for individual businesses.

What local businesses can do now
The announcement describes a streetscape plan and strategies for lighting, public art, street furniture, waste management and safer crosswalks. These plans may shape the downtown customer experience; no increase in sales or foot traffic is guaranteed.
Existing retailers and services
Follow NEDC and Borough implementation announcements. Ask about public meetings, business input and any future participation opportunities before spending money.
Prospective storefront owners
Check the exact address, lease terms, zoning, permitted activities, accessibility and applicable licenses. Main Street designation does not grant permission to operate.
Questions to bring
